Stars & Stripes Tart

  1. Heat oven to 400F.
  2. Combine butter and sugar in bowl.
  3. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy.
  4. Add flour and milk; beat at low speed until well mixed.
  5. Press dough onto bottom and 1/2 inch up sides of ungreased 13x9-inch baking pan.
  6. Prick bottom with fork.
  7. Bake 14-18 minutes or until lightly browned.
  8. Cool completely.
  9. Combine all filling ingredients in bowl.
  10. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy.
  11. Spread over top of cooled crust.
  12. Cover; refrigerate 1-2 hours or until firm.
  13. Arrange fruit on filling in design of American flag just before serving, using strawberry halves for stripes and blueberries for stars.
  14. Brush fruit and filling with apple jelly.
  15. *Substitute 2 1/2 cups of your favorite fruit (kiwifruit, mandarin orange segments, pineapple, etc.)
  16. arranged in any design.
