Mocha Cake

  1. Sift flour and salt.
  2. Cream sugar and shortening until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs 1 at a time.
  4. Mix cocoa with hot coffee.
  5. Add to creamed mixture.
  6. Gradually add dry ingredients.
  7. Dissolve baking soda in boiling water and add to batter; blend well.
  8. Pour into greased and floured layer cake pans.
  9. Bake at 375F for 30-35 minutes.
