Buttermilk and Stawberry Sorbet
- 2 cups low-fat buttermilk
- 14 cup sugar
- 14 cup light corn syrup
- 3 cups sliced fresh strawberries (about 1 pound)
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- To prepare sorbet, combine first 3 ingredients in a medium bowl, stirring until sugar dissolves.
- Pour mixture into the freezer can of an ice-cream freezer; freeze according to manufacturer's instructions.
- Spoon sorbet into a freezer-safe container; cover and freeze 1 hour or until firm.
- To prepare strawberries, combine strawberries and 1 tablespoon sugar; let stand 10 minutes.
- Spoon berries into serving bowls, and top with sorbet.
- Serve 3/4 cup sorbet with 3/4 cup strawberries.
