Red Zinfandel Cranberry Sauce
- 14 oz Bag of fresh cranberries
- 1 2/3 cup Red Zinfandel (1/2 bottle)
- 1 cup White sugar
- 1 cup Brown sugar
- 2 each Cinnamon sticks
- 6 each Cloves - crushed up
- 1 tsp Allspice
- 1/4 tsp Nutmeg
- 1 Orange jest ( without white part)
- Put everything in a large pot except cranberries.
- Bring to a simmer.
- Stir frequently.
- Once sugars are disolved let simmer for 12minutes.
- Strain into a large bowl.
- Should measure a bit under 2 cups.
- Pour strained liquid back into pot.
- Add cranberries.
- They will begin popping like popcorn.
- Pour the remaining Zinfandel into a wine glass and enjoy while stirring the cranberries occasionally.
- After 25 or so minutes turn off burner and let cool.
