Double Chocolate Bread Recipe
- 3 c. sifted flour
- 3 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- 1 1/4 c. lowfat milk
- 1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/4 c. melted shortening
- 3 sqs. unsweetened chocolate, melted
- 1 (6 ounce.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pcs
- 1/2 c. maraschino cherries, liquid removed and minced
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Sift flour, baking pwdr, and salt.
- Stir in egg, lowfat milk, then brown sugar.
- Grease and flour 3 (6 x 3 x 2 1/4 inch) miniature loaf pans.
- Add in to batter, melted shortening and chocolate, stirring till blended.
- Stir in chocolate chips and cherries.
- Divide batter between 3 pans.
- Bake about 45 min or possibly till done.
- Cold in pans for about 15 min, then remove and finish cooling.
- May be baked in 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 min.
