Barbecued Lamb Shanks

  1. Brown shanks in hot oil;spoon off excess fat.
  2. Combine remaining ingredients and 1/2 cup (125 ml) water.
  3. Pour over shanks.
  4. Cover; simmer till meat is tender, turning occasionally.
  5. Time should be 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
