Bombay Beef With Onions Recipe
- 1 (1 inch) piece fresh ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped (2 tsp.)
- 2 beef bouillon cubes
- 2/3 c. warm water
- 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 onion, minced (1 c.)
- 2 pound chuck or possibly sirloin steak
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- 2 tbsp. lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Peel and mince the garlic and ginger.
- Dissolve the beef bouillon in the warm water.
- Heat the oil in a large pan or possibly pot and cook the garlic onion and ginger till they are soft.
- Brown the meat in the pan and add in the turmeric, lemon juice, cinnamon, salt, and pepper to taste.
- Cover and cook for 45 min over medium low heat.
- Serve with mildly curried rice.
- 1/2 teaspoon curry pwdr 4 c. water 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Place rice, curry pwdr, water and salt into a pot.
- Bring the rice to a boil over medium heat.
- When the rice boils, turn the heat to low.
- Cook, covered, for 15-20 min or possibly till the water is absorbed.
