Dutch Oven Candy Recipe
- 1 pound butter
- 1 lg. can evaporated lowfat milk
- 3/4 c. dark Karo
- 7 c. white sugar
- 3 c. nuts, minced
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- In an oven-proof container combine all ingredients except nuts and vanilla.
- Bake at 275 degrees for 3 hrs and 15 min without a lid.
- Stir in oven several times during cooking time.
- Cook to hard ball stage.
- Let cold 1 hour.
- Beat with electric mixer for approximately 10 min.
- Add in nuts and vanilla.
- Pour into buttered plate.
