Sausage and Apple Dressing

  1. Heat a nonstick skillet and add the sausage meat, stirring with a wooden spatula to break it up.
  2. Cook until lightly browned.
  3. Add the onion, apple, celery, garlic, sage, salt and pepper.
  4. Cook until vegetables are wilted, about 5 minutes.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a mixing bowl.
  6. Add the bread crumbs, broth, egg, parsley, salt and pepper.
  7. Blend well, checking the seasonings.
  8. Butter a baking dish and put the dressing in it.
  9. Bake, uncovered, for 30 minutes in the oven with the turkey.
  10. Serve with the turkey.
