Herb Stuffed Meat Pie Recipe
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. lowfat milk
- 2 1/2 c. herb seasoned stuffing croutons
- 1 1/2 pound grnd beef
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 sm. onion, sliced
- 1 med. apple, pared, cored and minced
- 1/2 c. minced celery
- 1 med. carrot, grated
- 3 tbsp. butter
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 c. mushrooms (optional)
- Beat egg with lowfat milk; stir in 1/2 c. croutons.
- Let stand 5 min.
- Fold in grnd beef and salt till well blended.
- Press into a 9-inch pie pan, making a 1/2-inch high edge.
- Saute/fry onion, apple, celery, and carrot in butter just till onion is soft.
- Stir in water and remaining croutons.
- Spoon into meat shell.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 40 min.
- Pour off any drippings.
