Maple Crunch Baked Apples
- 12 cup flour
- 12 cup brown sugar
- 14 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 pinch salt
- 3 tablespoons butter, cut into small pieces
- 13 cup old fashioned oats
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup
- 4 medium gala apples
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and lightly grease an 8x8 glass dish.
- In a bowl, mix brown sugar, flour, and salt.
- Cut in butter until crumbly.
- Stir in oats and maple syrup.
- Core the apples and cut off the end (I do this on the bottom because apples tend to sit better and more even on their tops).
- Slice an inch piece off the core and use it as a cork to plug the apple.
- Place the apples in the dish.
- Fill the apples with the mix and cover with foil.
- Bake 45 minutes.
- Remove foil and continue baking until the apples are tender and filling is light brown, about 15 minutes.
- Let cool and eat warm or cold.
