Grilled Cheese Italiano
- 2 slices Bread
- 1/2 cups (Real) Mayonnaise
- 2 Tablespoons Grated Parmesan Cheese (I Use Kraft)
- 2 slices Mozzarella Or Provolone Cheese
- 2 slices Tomato
- 2 pinches Dried Parsley
- Garlic Powder, To Taste
- 1 pinch Fresh Ground Black Pepper
- Your Favorite Marinara Sauce, For Dipping
- Get your griddle ready!
- Warm the marinara a littleI dont like mine cold.
- Choose your type of bread.
- I use wheatberry because it gets really crunchy, or rye is good too.
- Take the mayo and mix it with the parmesan cheese.
- Slather this on the outside of the bread so that when you grill, it gets toasty brown (kinda like a cheese stick).
- Layer on the cheese.
- Ive used mozzarella or provolone and they are both perfect!
- Now lay on some sliced tomatoes and sprinkle all that with a little dried parsley, garlic powder and fresh ground pepper.
- Top it off with the other slice of bread slathered with the mayo-cheese mixture.
- Plop it down on the griddle and be ready for mouth-watering aroma!
- Let it get good and toasty on each side, cut it in half and watch the magic!
- Dip in warmed marinara or extra spaghetti sauce.
- Optional: add sliced pepperoni or Canadian bacon for heartier appetites!
