Grilled Cheese Italiano

  1. Get your griddle ready!
  2. Warm the marinara a littleI dont like mine cold.
  3. Choose your type of bread.
  4. I use wheatberry because it gets really crunchy, or rye is good too.
  5. Take the mayo and mix it with the parmesan cheese.
  6. Slather this on the outside of the bread so that when you grill, it gets toasty brown (kinda like a cheese stick).
  7. Layer on the cheese.
  8. Ive used mozzarella or provolone and they are both perfect!
  9. Now lay on some sliced tomatoes and sprinkle all that with a little dried parsley, garlic powder and fresh ground pepper.
  10. Top it off with the other slice of bread slathered with the mayo-cheese mixture.
  11. Plop it down on the griddle and be ready for mouth-watering aroma!
  12. Let it get good and toasty on each side, cut it in half and watch the magic!
  13. Dip in warmed marinara or extra spaghetti sauce.
  14. Optional: add sliced pepperoni or Canadian bacon for heartier appetites!
