Turkey Chili
- 1 Tbsp. salad oil
- 16 oz. ground turkey
- 1 large onion, diced
- 1 small garlic clove, minced
- 4 tsp. chili powder
- 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
- 1 c. water
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3/4 tsp. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper
- 15 1/4 oz. can red kidney beans
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, in hot salad oil, cook turkey, onion and garlic until all pan juices evaporate and turkey is well browned, stirring frequently.
- Stir in chili powder and cook 1 minute.
- Stir in tomatoes with their liquid, water, salt, sugar and crushed red pepper.
- Over high heat, heat to boiling.
- Reduce heat to low.
- Simmer uncovered 10 minutes to blend flavors.
- Gently stir in kidney beans and heat through.
