Spanish Bar Cake

  1. Cook raisins, water and solid shortening for 5 minutes.
  2. Cool for 15 minutes.
  3. Place in large bowl, then add flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, cloves, nutmeg and egg.
  4. Blend well.
  5. Spread in greased 9 inch square pan.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees (175 C.) for 35-40 minutes.
  7. Frost with favorite white frosting.
