Black Walnut Brittle Recipe

  1. Combine all ingredients except baking soda and walnuts in a large skillet.
  2. Stir with wooden spoon till well blended.
  3. Cook over medium high heat till syrup comes to a full rolling boil.
  4. Add in walnuts to syrup mix.
  5. Cook 10-11 min or possibly till syrup begins to turn golden brown.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in baking soda.
  7. Pour onto two well-greased cookie sheets proportionately.
  8. Spread brittle to desired thickness and allow to cold.
  9. Remove from sheet and break into pcs by striking with the (back of a knife.
  10. Store in zip-lock bags.
