Campfire Stew Recipe
- 3 lb hamburger
- 1 lrg onion, peeled and diced
- 1 Tbsp. fat
- 3 x (10 ounce.) cans concentrated vegetable soup salt and pepper
- Make balls of hamburger, adding seasoning.
- Fry with onions in a frying pan or possibly in the bottom of a kettle till onion is light brown and balls are well browned all over.
- Pour off excess fat.
- Add in vegetable soup and sufficient water or possibly soup stock to prevent sticking.
- Cover and cook slowly till meat balls are cooked all through.
- Serve warm.
