Savory Cheddar Shortbread

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Line a metal half sheet baking pan (12 by 17-inches) with parchment paper and butter.
  3. In large bowl, mix together butter, cheese, flour, garlic salt and cayenne.
  4. Turn out onto floured surface; knead lightly to blend well.
  5. Spread evenly into prepared pan.
  6. Score, with a paring knife, into small squares or rectangles.
  7. Prick each square with a fork twice to make a cross shape.
  8. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Serve hot or cold.
