Mrs. Woods' French Bread With Tomato

  1. Combine all ingredients; knead until smooth, about 10 minutes.
  2. Let rise until doubled in size; punch down.
  3. Shape into 3 loaves.
  4. Brush with olive oil and let rise again.
  5. Slash with knife and bake at 450* for 45 minutes over a pan with ice water.
