Mrs. Woods' French Bread With Tomato
- 1 tablespoon yeast
- 2 cups warm water
- 2 cups crushed tomatoes
- 7 cups bread flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 2 tablespoons italian seasoning
- Combine all ingredients; knead until smooth, about 10 minutes.
- Let rise until doubled in size; punch down.
- Shape into 3 loaves.
- Brush with olive oil and let rise again.
- Slash with knife and bake at 450* for 45 minutes over a pan with ice water.
