Crispy Chocolate Chip Cookies

  2. Preheat oven to 400F.
  3. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.

  5. Whisk flour, salt, and baking soda in a medium bowl.
  6. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar using a mixer until light and fluffy, about 4 to 5 minutes.
  7. Beat in egg and then vanilla.
  8. Reduce mixer speed to low and gradually add dry ingredients to butter mixture until a soft dough forms.
  9. Stir in chocolate chips.

  11. Drop dough in heaping tablespoons, 3 inches apart, onto prepared baking sheets.
  12. Bake cookies until brown around edges, about 12 to 14 minutes.
  13. Transfer to a rack to cool.
  14. Repeat with remaining dough, allowing pans to cool in between batches.
