Mom's Low-Fat Chocolate Chip Cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 375F (190C).
  2. Coat baking sheets with vegetable cooking spray; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat prune puree or prune butter, sugars, egg whites and vanilla to blend thoroughly.
  4. In a small bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Stir dry ingredients into prune mixture, mix completely.
  6. Stir in chocolate pieces.
  7. Drop tablespoonful onto prepared baking sheets; flatten slightly.
  8. Bake about 10 minutes until lightly browned around the edges.
  9. Remove to racks to cool completely.
  10. Makes about 60 cookies.
