Chocolate Birthday Cake

  1. Mix first 5 ingredients and 1/4 cup sour cream in large bowl.
  2. Using mixer beat batter for 2 minutes.
  3. Stir in 1 cup chocolate chips.
  4. Divide among two 9-inch cake pans.
  5. Bake at 350F for 25 minutes.
  6. Cool for 15 minutes, remove from pans.
  7. Bring jam and butter to simmer.
  8. Remove from heat add 3 cups chocolate chips; stir until they melt.
  9. Beat in 3/4 cups sour cream and sugar.
  10. Beat 2 minutes.
  11. Frost cake.
