Scottish Strawberry Tart or Pie

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F (180C).
  2. Arrange the strawberry slices overlapping in concentric circles in the tart or pie shell.
  3. In a bowl, beat together, cream, eggs and egg yolk, lemon juice, granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
  4. Pour over the strawberries.
  5. Bake for 25 minutes or until the strawberries are softened.
  6. Mix together the brown sugar and the remaining 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
  7. Sprinkle over the tart.
  8. Return to the oven and bake for a further 10 minutes or until the sugar has caramelized on top.
  9. Serve warm.
