Berry Surprise Cupcakes

  1. Preheat oven to 350F Place paper liners in 24 (2-1/2-inch) muffin cups.
  2. Combine cake mix, egg whites, water and oil in large bowl.
  3. Beat at low speed with electric mixer until moistened.
  4. Beat at medium speed 2 minutes.
  5. Fill each liner half full with batter.
  6. Cut three fruit snack sheets into 9 equal pieces.
  7. (You will have 3 extra squares.)
  8. Place each fruit snack piece on top of batter in each cup.
  9. Pour remaining batter equally over each.
  10. Bake at 350F for 18 to 23 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  11. Cool in pans 5 minutes.
  12. Remove to cooling racks.
  13. Cool completely.
  14. Frost cupcakes with Vanilla frosting.
  15. Decorate with fruit snack shapes, if desired.
  16. Variation To make a Berry Surprise Cake, prepare cake following package directions.
  17. Pour half the batter into prepared 13x9x2-inch pan.
  18. Place 4 fruit snack sheets evenly on top.
  19. Pour remaining batter over all.
  20. Bake and cool as directed on package.
  21. Frost and decorate as directed.
