Basic Filling For Cream Pies Recipe

  1. Cook lowfat milk, sugar and flour till thick, add in beaten egg yolks and flavoring.
  2. PINEAPPLE: Drain juice off 1 can crushed pineapple and add in to custard.
  3. CHOCOLATE: Use 4 Tbsp.
  4. cocoa and omit 2 of flour.
  5. COCONUT: Add in 1 can of coconut.
  6. Beat egg whites till half beaten; add in 1/2 tsp.
  7. cream of tartar.
  8. Beat stiff and mix in 6 Tbsp.
  9. sugar.
  10. This makes meringue for top of pies.
  11. Pour into baked pie shell made as follows.
  12. Mix: 1/2 teaspoon salt
  13. Measure out 1/2 c. Crisco.
