Ground Meat and Cabbage

  1. Julienne the cabbage rather thickly.
  2. Grate the garlic and ginger.
  3. Roughly chop the leek.
  4. Heat some oil in a frying pan and pan fry the leek, garlic and ginger until fragrant.
  5. Add the ground meat and stir-fry until browned.
  6. Add the cabbage and continue stir-frying.
  7. Combine the ingredients in advance.
  8. Pour it into the pan, and cook until there's no more moisture left in the pan.
  9. Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper and it's done.
  10. If you cook it until the cabbage is softened, it will be sweet and mild.
  11. If you use a lot of garlic it will have a very strong odor at the start, but as you cook longer it will become milder.
  12. In this variation I used coarsely chopped beef and added an egg on top.
  13. It tasted like sukiyaki!
