Holiday peppermint bark

  1. Line baking sheet with wax paper
  2. microwave morsels in medium uncovered microwave-safe bowl on medium-high 70% power for 1 minute.
  3. Stir the morsels.
  4. If necessary microwave additional 10 to 15 second interval stirring just until the morsels are melted.
  5. Place peppermint candies in a heavy duty resealable plastic food storage bag.
  6. Crush candies using a rolling pin or other heavy object.
  7. While holding strainer over melted morsels pour crushed candies into strainer.
  8. Shake to release all small candy pieces and reserve the larger candy pieces.
  9. Stir morsel peppermint mixture.
  10. Spread mixture to desired thickness on prepared baking sheet.
  11. Sprinkle with reserved candy pieces press in lightly.
  12. Let stand for about 1 hour or until firm.
  13. Break into pieces and store in airtight container at room temperature.
