Amish Starter Cookies Recipe

• 1 1/2 c. applesauce
• 3 tsp baking soda
• 3/4 c. brown sugar
• 3/4 c. sugar
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 1 c. shortening
• 1 c. Amish batter
• 1 x egg
• 4 1/2 c. flour
• 1 tsp baking pwdr
• 2 c. chocolate chips (12 ounce.)

1. Combine applesauce and baking soda in small bowl and set aside.
2. Cream together brown sugar, white sugar, vanilla and shortening.
3. Add in Amish batter and egg.
4. Beat 2 min on medium speed.
5. Add in applesauce mix to batter alternately with flour and baking pwdr.
6. Mix till well blended.
7. Mix in chocolate chips.
8. Drop on cookie sheets.
9. Bake at 350 F 8-10 min.
