Far Eastern Rutabagas

  1. Peel the rutabagas and cut into 1/2 inch chunks.
  2. Place in a saucepan, cover with cold water and cook over medium heat until tender, about 20 minutes.
  3. Drain.
  4. Return to the pan and stir over medium heat until all the excess moisture evaporates, about 2 minutes.
  5. In a large frying pan, combine the soy sauce, canola oil, sesame oil, garlic and pepper.
  6. Heat for 4 minutes.
  7. Add the rutabagas and toss to combine.
  8. Heat for 2 minutes.
  9. Sprinkle with the scallions.
