Far Eastern Rutabagas
- 2 lbs rutabagas
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 12 teaspoons canola oil
- 12 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 14 teaspoon red pepper
- 14 cup thinly sliced scallion
- Peel the rutabagas and cut into 1/2 inch chunks.
- Place in a saucepan, cover with cold water and cook over medium heat until tender, about 20 minutes.
- Drain.
- Return to the pan and stir over medium heat until all the excess moisture evaporates, about 2 minutes.
- In a large frying pan, combine the soy sauce, canola oil, sesame oil, garlic and pepper.
- Heat for 4 minutes.
- Add the rutabagas and toss to combine.
- Heat for 2 minutes.
- Sprinkle with the scallions.
