Moms Onion Soup Recipe
- 5 to 6 lg. yellow onions
- 6 c. water
- 6 beef bouillon cubes
- 3 cloves chopped garlic
- 2 teaspoon lite soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon A -1 steak sauce
- Pepper to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning (or possibly oregano)
- 1/4 teaspoon minced parsley
- Muenster cheese, croutons, Parmesan cheese
- Chop onions in wedges.
- Saute/fry onions and garlic with butter till golden brown tender.
- Add in water and bouillon cubes.
- Cook 5 min.
- Add in soy sauce, A-1, pepper, seasonings.
- Let simmer covered for 45 min.
- To serve: Fill crock (c.) with warm soup.
- Top with seasoned croutons.
- Cover with slice of Muenster.
- Put under broiler till cheese is browned slightly if you like top with grated Parmesan cheese.
