Easy Italian Casserole
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 1 (16 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms, drained
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp. dried basil
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 2 c. Bisquick
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 egg
- 8 slices cheese
- Cook and stir beef, onion and garlic until brown; drain.
- Stir in sauce, mushrooms, sugar, oregano, basil, salt and pepper.
- Heat to boiling, stirring, and reduce heat.
- Simmer 10 minutes.
- Grease 8 x 8 x 2-inch dish.
- Mix Bisquick, milk and egg.
- Spread half in pan.
- Top with 4 slices of cheese.
- Spoon beef over cheese.
- Top with remaining cheese slices; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
- Drop remaining dough by spoonful onto cheese and bake at 400u0b0 for 20 minutes.
- Serves 6 to 8.
