Coffee Pears With Chocolate Sauce
- 1 kg pear
- 14 cup Splenda sugar substitute
- 1 12 cups water
- 14 teaspoon allspice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons instant coffee
- 2 teaspoons instant coffee
- 210 g dark chocolate
- 12 cup double cream
- 1 tablespoon boiling water
- PEEL and core pears; cut in half.
- NOTE: Can used drained canned pears too!

- Will reduce cooking time in half!

- Place in an casserole dish.
- Heat oven to 180C.
- In saucepan, add water, Splenda, and 2 tablespoons coffee; STIR until all is dissolved.
- Simmer for 5 - 7 minutes.
- POUR mixture over pears.
- BAKE about 40 minutes.
- Remove pears and place covered on a warm plate while making sauce; RESERVE SAUCE.
- In saucepan, ADD above sauce; bring to a boil; simmer for 7 - 10 minutes.
- On LOW heat, add chocolate, 2 teaspoons coffee that has been dissolved in 1 tablespoon BOILING water and cream; STIR until smooth.
- DRIZZLE sauce over pears.
- If doing for entertaining, can garnish it with two mint leaves.
