Beef Rice Bowl

  1. Cut the onion into 3mm thick slices, cut the leek diagonally, and the beef into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Stir fry the onions and leeks in oil until soft, using a fairly generous amount of oil.
  3. When the onions and leeks are softened, add the beef and stir fry.
  4. Add water and bring to a boil.
  5. Add sugar and simmer for about 5 minutes.
  6. Add the mirin and mentsuyu and simmer for about 10 minutes.
  7. Adjust the taste with soy sauce.
  8. Put over the rice in a bowl.
  9. Use as much sauce as you like.
  10. Top with red pickled ginger and serve.
