Beef Cacciatore Sliders

  1. Add the olive oil to a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Cook the onions until they are nice and soft.
  3. Add the tomatoes, tomato paste, capers and basil and cook for about 10-15 minutes until the sauce is nice and thick!
  4. Put the meat in a large bowl with the pepper flakes, salt and pepper, grated onion (grated with a micro plane), grated cheese and basil.
  5. Take off your rings and MIX!
  6. Divide it into 8 even patties, making the middle a little thinner so they grill evenly.
  7. I grilled them on a cast iron grill pan for about 5 minutes on each side.
  8. Put the provolone on for the last two minutes to get it melty!
  9. Meanwhile, get those rolls toastin under a hot broiler.
  10. But keep the oven light on so you dont forget about em!
  11. To assemble, put some of the sauce on the bottom half of the bun, then the burger, then more sauce, then some mushrooms, then the top half of the bun.
  12. You will definitely need at least two of these babies ... and some napkins!
  13. Enjoy!
