Fudgy Brownies
- 1 14 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 34 cup butter or 34 cup margarine
- 34 cup cocoa
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 cup walnuts, chopped
- cooking spray
- 2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine
- 14 cup cocoa powder
- 12 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups icing sugar, sifted
- 14 cup milk
- Blend together flour, baking powder and salt; set aside.
- Melt butter over low heat in a large saucepan.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in cocoa.
- Beat in brown sugar, sugar, eggs and vanilla.
- Stir in dry ingredients and walnuts.
- Spray a 9-inch square pan.
- Spread batter in pan.
- Bake in a 350F oven for 40 minutes.
- Do not overbake.
- Cool completely.
- Spread Fudgy Icing.
- FUDGY ICING: Melt butter over low heat in a medium saucepan.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in cocoa and vanilla.
- Stir in icing sugar and milk until smooth and of spreading consistency.
- TIP: You should always be sure to store your eggs in the body of the refrigerator and not in the door to ensure they are kept at a consistently cooler temperature.
- Eggs should also be kept in the carton as they absorb the smell and flavor of the other foods around them.
