Romanian Noodle and Pork Casserole
- 1 lb. ground pork
- 1 slice white bread soaked in
- 2 tbsp. half and half
- 1 cup yellow onion, chopped
- 1 tbsp. caraway seeds
- 1/2 cup chopped parsley
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 lb. fine noodles, cooked and drained
- 4 eggs
- 2/3 cup half and half
- 1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
- Heat oven to 350F.
- Brown pork in a skillet, breaking it up as it cooks.
- Drain.
- In a large bowl combine pork, bread, onion, caraway, parsley, salt and pepper.
- Arrange alternate layers of pork mixture and noodles in a large, lightly buttered baking pan, ending with noodles.
- Beat together the eggs, half and half and Cheddar.
- Pour over pork mixture.
- Bake 45 minutes or until egg mixture is set.
