Teen Bean Bake Recipe
- 1/2 pound frankfurters
- 2 cans pork and beans
- 1/2 c. catsup
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 tbsp. prepared mustard
- 3/4 c. flour
- 1 tbsp. sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2/3 c. cornmeal
- 1 slightly beaten egg
- 2/3 c. lowfat milk
- 1/4 c. melted shortening
- 1/3 c. minced onion
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Cut frankfurters in 1/2 inch pcs.
- Combine frankfurters, beans, catsup, water and mustard; place in baking dish.
- Combine flour, sugar, baking pwdr, salt and cornmeal.
- Add in egg, lowfat milk, shortening and onion; stir just sufficient to combine.
- Spoon over beans.
- Bake for 35 to 40 min.
