Herb Parmesan Batter Bread Recipe
- 3 tbsp. sugar
- 3 c. hot water
- 3 Packages dry yeast or possibly 2 (2 1/2 ounce.) cake yeast
- 3 tbsp. oil
- 1 tbsp. parsley
- 1 tbsp. oregano
- 3/4 c. Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 tbsp. salt
- 8 to 10 c. white flour
- Proof the yeast in hot water with sugar, then combine with the other ingredients in the bowl of a mixer.
- Work in 5 to 6 c. of the flour and beat on medium speed till the dough is very smooth.
- Turn the mixer down to low and add in the rest of the flour as needed, 3 to 4 c..
- The dough is much stickier than most others, so add in only sufficient flour to be able to handle the dough.
- Divide the batter and shape into loaves.
- Put right into greased loaf pans, rise, and bake at 375 degrees for 50 to 60 min.
- Makes 2 loaves.
