Lemon Poppy Seed Cakes

  1. Grease loaf pans, 2 large or 4 small.
  2. Combine the first 5 ingredients, beat at medium speed with an electric mixer until blended.
  3. Stir in pecans and poppy seeds.
  4. Put in loaf pans.
  5. Bake at 325F for 40 minutes.
  6. Mix together 1/2 cup lemon juice and 2 tablespoons sugar until sugar is dissolved.
  7. While loaves are hot, pour lemon/sugar combination over each one equally.
  8. Cool in pans for at least 10 minutes.
