Oatmeal Cookies from Good Housekeeping's Book of Menus, Recipes and Household Discoveries - 1922
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1/2 cup Margarine
- 1/2 cup other shortening
- 2 Eggs
- 1 1/2 cup Pastry Flour
- 2 cup Rolled Oats
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 1/2 cup Chopped Raisins
- 1/2 cup Chopped Nut Meats
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
- 1 tbsp Vinegar
- Preheat oven to 400F
- beat eggs
- Sift together flour, cinnamon and salt
- Cream together margarine, shortening and sugar.
- Add the beaten eggs , the oats, the sifted flour mixture, the raisins and nuts.
- add the Soda to the vinegar then add to the main mixture.
- Mix all together thoroughly, roll put to 1/8 inch in thickness, cut and bake ten minutes in a 400.F oven.
