Basil And Mozzarella Burgers Recipe

  1. Prepare grill for indirect cooking.
  2. Coat a grill rack with cooking spray; place on grill.
  3. Combine beef, couscous, onions, egg white, garlic, parsley and pepperoni in large bowl; mix gently but thoroughly.
  4. Shape into 4 patties, each 3 1/2 to 4 inches in diameter.
  5. Arrange on grill rack.
  6. Grill over indirect medium heat till done, 8 to 10 min per side, turning once and topping with mozzarella during last 3 min of cooking.
  7. Place patties on 4 toasted Italian bread slices; top with crushed tomatoes, basil, pepperoncini, and remaining bread slices.
  8. Note: For couscous: Bring 3/4 c. water to a boil in a 2-qt saucepan.
  9. Stir in 1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp.
  10. couscous.
  11. Cover and remove from heat.
  12. Let stand for 5 min.
  13. Fluff with fork.
