Green Fried Tomatoes
- 1 cup Flour
- 1/2 cups Cornmeal
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 Tablespoons Black Pepper
- 1/4 teaspoons Garlic Powder
- 1/4 teaspoons Onion Powder
- 1/4 teaspoons Paprika
- 3 whole Medium Green Tomatoes, Cut Into 1/4 Inch Slices
- 1/2 cups Oil, For Frying
- Mix dry ingredients in a large plastic bag.
- Add tomato slices, 1 or 2 at a time; shake to coat.
- Heat oil in a large skillet on medium heat.
- Add tomato slices a few at a time; brown lightly on both sides.
- Drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot.
- Makes 6 servings.
