Hungarian Goulash
- 1/4 c. butter
- 2 lb. cubed beef (1-inch)
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 medium cloves garlic, diced
- 1 large can tomato sauce
- 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 2 Tbsp. Kitchen Bouquet
- 1 Tbsp. molasses
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. Hungarian paprika
- 2 Tbsp. hot paprika
- 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
- pinch of basil
- pinch of ginger
- 2 small cans mushrooms
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 1 c. water
- 1/2 c. water
- Melt the butter and brown onion, garlic and beef.
- Add the tomato sauce, spices, mushrooms and 1 cup water.
- Simmer and stir occasionally for 2 hours.
- Add 1/2 cup water and flour to thicken.
- Serve over egg noodles.
