Opal Deneke's Fig Jam
- 6 1/2 pounds figs ripe
- 1 can pineapple
- 4 1/2 pounds sugar
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon cloves
- 1 tablespoon allspice
- Weigh figs after peeling, removing only the peeling that easily pulls off with the stem.
- Mash peeled figs to fine pulp, add other ingredients.
- Mix thoroughly and cook until thick, stirring constantly.
- Pour into hot sterile jars and seal.
