Easy Chocolate Meringue Pie Recipe
- 1 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. flour, lightly packed
- 3 heaping tbsp. cocoa
- 2 c. water
- 3 Large eggs, separated
- 1/2 stick butter
- Dash of salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 (9") baked pastry shell
- Mix sugar, flour and cocoa together.
- Add in sufficient water to make a paste.
- Beat in Large eggs yolks well.
- Heat remaining water with butter and salt till butter is melted.
- Add in water mix to first mix and cook till thick, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat.
- Add in vanilla.
- Cold and pour into baked pie crust.
- Cover with meringue and brown.
