Apple Chocolate Fudge Cake With Apple Fluff Frosting Recipe

  1. Mix chocolate, 1/2 c. lowfat milk and 1/2 c. sugar in saucepan; cook and stir till thick and smooth.
  2. Stir in apple sauce and vanilla, cold.
  3. Combine and sift dry ingredients.
  4. Cream shortening with remaining 1 c. sugar; blend in Large eggs one at a time.
  5. Alternately add in dry ingredients and remaining 3/4 c. lowfat milk to creamed mixure.
  6. blending well after each addition.
  7. Blend in chocolate mix.
  8. Turn batter into 2 greased and floured 8" layer pans.
  9. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes.
  10. or possibly till done.
  11. Split each cooled layer to make 4 layers.
  12. Apple Fluff Frosting: Beat topping mix with lowfat milk.
  13. When mix begins to stiffen and form peaks, add in applesauce and vanilla.
  14. Beat till hard sufficient to spread.
  15. Makes about 3 c..
  16. Apple Cream Frosting:Beat together 1 large pkg (8 ounce) cream cheese, 4 c. 10X sugar and 1 Tbs.
  17. grated lemon rind.
  18. When mix is fluffy, stir in 2 to 3 Tbs.
  19. canned applesauce; chill.
  20. Spread between and on top layers
