Best Meatloaf Recipe
- 1/2 whole Bell Pepper
- 1/2 whole Onion
- 2- 1/2 pounds Hamburger Not To Exceed 15% Fat
- 1 cup Plain Bread Crumbs
- 1 whole Egg
- 2 teaspoons Garlic Salt
- 2 teaspoons Seasoned Pepper
- 1/2 cups Chili Sauce, Divided
- 1 can (10.75 Oz. Can) Campbell's Tomato Soup
- 1/2 cups Water
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- Finely chop bell pepper and onion.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, bell pepper, onion, garlic salt and pepper.
- I usually use my hands; you want to handle it delicately, dont handle it too much.
- Form into a loaf and make a valley on top with the side of your hand.
- Place in a loaf pan.
- Put in the oven at 375 degrees F for 15 minutes then add half the chili sauce on top.
- Return to the oven and cook for the remaining 45 minutes.
- In the meantime, make the gravy.
- Place the can of tomato soup in a sauce pan with the remaining half of the chili sauce and the water.
- When the meatloaf is done, allow to rest for a few minutes before cutting.
- Then cut off the end of the meatloaf and crumble in the gravy.
- Serve with mashed potatoes.
