Kalbi Kui-Broiled Short Ribs
- 4 pounds beef, short ribs
- 3 tablespoons sesame seeds toasted
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup soy sauce, tamari
- 13 cup onions finely minced
- 1/4 cup scallions, spring or green onions finely minced
- 1 each garlic cloves minced
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 teaspoons ginger minced
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- Cut ribs in 2 1/2 x 2 inch; pieces and score surfaces.
- Combine marinade ingredients and soak ribs for 1 to 2 hours.
- Place on cold broiler pan; broil on middle rack position 10 to 12 minutes on each side or until of desired doneness.
- Be heavy handed on the garlic and ginger if you like.
- Get the butcher to slice the short ribs very thin 1/4 inch; or less.
- And broil over coals.
