Spring Delight Oatmeal (Raspberry Pear)

  1. Drain the pears, reserving the juice separately.
  2. Bring 3/4 cup water (less for thicker oatmeal, more for thinner), pear juice, and salt to a boil.
  3. Meanwhile, microwave the pears uncovered for about 10-20 seconds, or until they've begun to soften.
  4. Add the raspberries to the pears and sprinkle the sugar over them.
  5. Stir together.
  6. Add oats to the boiling mixture.
  7. Stir occasionally for 2 minutes over medium heat.
  8. Put the fruit mixture in the oats and stir occasionally for another 2 minutes.
  9. Put about 2 tablespoons of raspberry yogurt into the mix and stir well.
  10. Cook for about 1 more minute.
  11. Take off the heat.
  12. Oats should be golden brown and the fruit, particularly the raspberries, should have begun to break down.
  13. Overall mixture should have a pleasant creamy-pink color.
  14. Serve warm immediately, or let it rest a moment to set up a little.
