Crunchy Ham Sandwiches
- butter, softened
- 8 slices white bread
- 4 slices ham
- 4 slices American cheese
- 1 tomatoes, thinly sliced
- prepared mustard (to taste)
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 18 teaspoon onion salt
- 1 14 cups crushed potato chips
- Spread butter on 1 side of 4 slices of the bread.
- Layer 1 slice ham, 1 slice cheese and 1 to 2 tomato slices on each of the buttered bread slices.
- Spread mustard on the remaining bread and place bread on top of the sandwiches.
- Mix the eggs, milk and onion salt in a shallow dish.
- Dip each side of the sandwiches in the egg mixture, then in the potato chips, patting to push the potato chips into the bread.
- Place the sandwiches in a lightly greased skillet.
- Cook for 2 minutes per side or until browned and crisp.
