For Hinamatsuri (Doll Festival): Perfectly Round Temari Sushi #1
- 80 grams Cooked rice (for the emperor dolls)
- 400 grams Cooked rice (for the other hand-rolled sushi)
- 1 Sushi rice flavoring
- 1 Black sesame seeds
- 1 Sakura Denbu (mashed and seasoned pink fish)
- 1 Nori (dried seaweed sheet)
- 1 Cucumber (sliced)
- 1 Thin omelet
- 1 Smoked salmon
- 1 Sliced cheese
- 1 fresh tuna, shrimp, vinegared mackerel, etc. Your favorite temari sushi additions
- Mix the sushi rice flavoring into the cooked rice.
- Moisten a cake pop pan with water, and place your favorite fillings at the base of the mold.
- (Don't put fillings in two of the molds).
- Lightly pack the sushi rice into the mold over the filling.
- Cover with the lid, and close the pins.
- Press down firmly on the mold from the top, remove the lid, and take out the sushi balls.
- Decorate the two sushi balls that have no fillings.
- Make the emperor doll face out of black sesame and sakura denbu, and make the kimono and traditional headgear from the nori seaweed and cucumber.
- Make the empress doll face with black sesame and sakura denbu, and make the kimono and hair decoration out of the thin omelet, salmon, and sliced cheese.
